Lesotho, (Durban) South Africa

The trip from Cape Town to Durban was just one day at sea. Durban was a very special port for me, because it offered us the chance to travel inland to the country of Lesotho.

I pride myself in having visited a lot of the mini-kingdoms and tiny countries around the world. I've been to Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Monaco, the Vatican, Andorra (!) and my very favorite, San Marino in Europe and the territory of Hong Kong in Asia.

The only two little countries in Africa are both within South Africa - Lesotho, which is inland, and Swaziland, which is up against the Mozambique border. I'll be sure to do Swaziland next time, hopefully!

Its about a 5 hour drive inland to the Lesotho border Along the way out of Durban we definitively saw the huge difference that exists, to this day, between the "haves" (read: whites) and the "have-nots" (read: non-whites). Here, on the outskirts of the city, we saw a non-white, shopping mall (conveniently located under a highway).
